     DKNY (Donna Karan New York) is a label of fashion designer Donna Karan. It is also the name of a clothing store in New York City featuring Donna Karan's associated line.
     DKNY was founded in 1989 in New York by Donna Karan inspired by her daughter, Gabby, as a younger, cheaper version line compared to her existing Donna Karen New York label.
     DKNY became a publicly-traded venture 1996, and in 2001, was purchased by French corporation Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey.
